Tears of joy and defeat filled my June as the sports season came to an end for the summer. I also shot my third Westmoreland County Air Show, which was a challenge for me this year. I guess that is part of the newspaper grind: finding creative ways to freshly shoot an event you have photographed previously. I am certain it will be more difficult with more experience I gain, but these repeating assignments will serve as an opportunity to improve myself consistently.

The 320-mile, two-week journey along state Route 30 from Philadelphia to Lower Burrell raises money for veterans in need. About 12 to 15 people walk the full distance every year.
